Risk Assessment

William Pegg 11:57 Wednesday 28/11/01

This was yet again a complete waste of my time. The spreadsheet that we were made to fill in was poorly planned out, and
often based an entire risk on one question. This resulted in some very strange results being produced. I was then required
to explain why these were risks in the project, when they werent really that big an issue. The result of this was a document
that demonstrated my ability to lie in a convincing fashion. Possibly a useful transferable skill, but not what was being taught.

Jonathon Fernyhough 16:58 Wednesday 28/11/01

Jonathan Dinnis 19:16 Wednesday 28/11/01

I found this work rather silly, and thought that the questionnaire was poorly thought out and ambiguous. Many of the top ten
risks appear in the list as a result of just one question to which I gave a possibly/not-sure answer, which is too imprecise,
and has lead to what I believe is an innacurate and flawed piece of work.

Andrew Tucker 16:30 Monday 03/12/01

I had hoped for better. The spreadsheet was appalling, and I wont even mention what I thought of FORUM.

Chris Barraclough 16:09 Friday 30/11/01

Mike Patteson is a fool. Hehehe.

Harry Gibson 15:31 Saturday 01/12/01

Stephen Lynch 15:39 Monday 03/12/01

No work limit left the work too open ended. One could have written 30+ pages. The FORUM database submission was a
waste of time, someone should have explained to them the whole design proceedure and then we wouldnt have been left
with the cack-handed form we were given. Took about 30 minutes of constant back clicking and checking just to make sure
everything was there. Aside from that everything went well and the write-up on a whole was not that challenging

Andrew Dyson 09:56 Monday 03/12/01

Finished, at last. The most mind-numbingly boring excercise so far. I found myself physically falling asleep at my computer.
At least my waffling skills are improving. Now, back to requirements…lucky me.

Neil Curno 12:06 Monday 03/12/01

The exercise seemed worthwhile (apart from the ridiculous FORUM program) but why oh why do we have to write so many
reports?! They seem to serve no purpose except to stress us out and try and make us hand SEG stuff in late.

Andrew Burridge 12:36 Monday 03/12/01

May I suggest that in future you abolish the evil COCOMO thing, the godawful Risk Assessment Spreadsheet and the
laughable FORUM and replace them all with a magic 8 ball. I think that this would provide far more accurate results for us to
work with, and at least wed have the joy of shaking it up in eager childlike anticipation only to be told to “try again later”.
Although this may impinge on our ability to meet deadlines, I feel that the accuracy of the results would be increased
exponentially, and thus the trade off is worth it.

Alastair Burns 14:31 Monday 03/12/01

Andrew James 15:33 Monday 03/12/01

Michael Pratt 15:49 Monday 03/12/01

Another complete waste of my time in which i again learned how to waffle on about nothing. Some of the risks were either
so obvious its stupid or just depended on your answer to one question on the spreadsheet. the risks involved in the seg
project are so small its pathectic. learning about risk assesement would be easier if we looked at larger real life systems
where analysing the risk really mattered to the development of the system.

Helen Jankowska 16:33 Monday 03/12/01

spreashsheet thing now attached.

“Before filming a cameo in a music video benefiting victims of the September 11 attacks and the African AIDS epidemic, Jennifer Lopez had a 2-page list of backstage necessities that included: white couches, white drapes, white tables, French aromatherapy candles, beans, rice, chicken, Cuban food, yellow roses with red trim, white lilies, white roses, VCR, CD player, watermelon, apple pie a la mode, chocolate chip cookies, and music from 43 different acts. Seems reasonable, no? ”

I lovemade up bullshit - its one of my greatest skills, but even I have trouble being this good …
“. AMD is a third-world based company who make inferior, “knock-off” copies of American processor chips. They use child labor extensively in their third world sweatshops, and they deliberately disable the security features that American processor makers, such as Intel, use to prevent hacking. AMD chips are never sold in stores, and you will most likely be told that you have to order them from internet sites. Do not buy this chip! This is one request that you must refuse your son, if you are to have any hope of raising him well. “
