airports are rubbish. At best they are chaotic and hectic, with more running round like a headless chicken followed by sitting waiting for ages. At worst (like when your flight is delayed 2 hours and you might miss your connecting flight, they are truely terrible.
I’m flying with bmi back to the Uk. My connecting flight is with BA, so I’m hiding out in the BA executive lounge in Milan, becuase i need to speak to their staff and see if I can get my boarding pass for that end sorted at this end. Hopefully I’ll be able to and then I can rush between the flights and make it back to newcastle tonight. If thats not possible Im going to have to pospone my flight till X am the next moring and then stay in london over night. not sure If I have my keys with me. Damn.
To summise, Milan is fabuluslyt lazy and quiet, with a million tourist trap cafes, and very very few bars. Ant they all go away for most of August, which means the city was dead and thus lovely. Airports are poo the world over, and i had flying. Next timew I’m going to euroope Im getting a cheap EuroStar ticket and seeing if thats any good.

I love snippets of overheard commnats. I was in the cinema once and the girl behind me told her bloke “no - mother siad never put anything in your mouth which might have swum up the Themes”. Never did find out what they were talking about, however I love
Overheardinnbewyork.com It also ties up wth my friend L. how is moving there in September. I’m quite jealous.

I appear to have had an irrational hatred of coldplay. I’ve always dismissed them, even when Yellow first came out (I think this was something to do with breaking up with K. and the whole musical association thing), however this morning I was rtigging up a new set of speakers for my dad, and Parachutes was lieing around, so I bunged it in to test speakers as much as anything. It’s actually quite good. How annoying is that - 6 years after it comes out, I notice it.

Do you remember that I blogged about Super Mega Bitch From Hell (the greatest phrase ever). Whilst tidying my log files I discovered that somebody had typed that into google, and found cwd! I wonder if it was the super mega bitch from hell herself?

lazy days which are full of hard work - a juxtaposition which I have trouble resolving. I got up fairly early (for me) and eventualy cast out my demons (coffee help, now I understand F.’s early morning horrors). Into a kyak for 9:30 (inc half a mile carrying the damned thing across the tidal bay) and of lobster hunting. 6 and a crab later we come back, via a pub lunch and then back via the farm to the house. Afternoon spent sorting out computers (fucking shister bastards had quoted 300 quid “to make it work on the internet” - took me half an hour) and then a barbeque of the finest food (lobster, then lamb fast grilled until black and pink).
V. was right - it doesn’t actually get any better than this - only different.

Just what I needed - a weekend off from the world. No corporateness (infact it is positivly frowned upon), no girls (save the ones that are all ready married or old friends), no expences (I’ve found dinner and arrived with a case of beer and a birthday present) and good weather.
The first night here I did a bit of cooking, made chat, and slept like a log. Saturday I bagged 6 bunnies, remembered how much I love to hunt, and what a good shot I once was. Dinner came fresh from the sea, and was brilliant.
Today I’ve feed the pigs, humped bags of sand around, thundered round the roads in a big van, canoed out to sea to drop the lobster pots (fell overboard and hand to swim holding onto a 10kg lobster trap - harder than you might imagine) and got sun burnt.
The only downer so far has been I’ve lost my ring. I bought it when I first left home with RS, and I’ve never lost it for more than a day in 6 years (infact Im not sure how much I’ve taken it off), but reaching for a paddle when out today, I caught my hand between the boats, and it slid off as I pulled back. It bounced intot he canoe, and I thought it was safe, but when I reached for it, it had slid though a sink hole and slipped away. I damn near went ove the edge for it, but it was long gone. I could cry - my hands feel all wrong.

I’m a big fan of undereducation, overstated unthoughtthough statement, and so I’m going to jump right in there are call this Bullshit.
“More and more independent analysts and leading companies find that Windows Server System outperforms Linux on TCO, reliability, security, and indemnification. Get the facts, and make the decision that’s right for your business.”
Ok- linux is harder to use for newbies. It doesn’t do as much stuff (actually it does - just not out of the box), and it is more geeky. But for fucks sakes people - it does actually work, and windows, franky, does not. When my Lnux box crashes - I can recover. I can kill an indevidual process and no have to reboot. I can look at log files and find out why it crashed. With Gentoo Emerge I can easily install (and remove) software. With Ubuntu when I plug a drive in it is mounted automatically. I have a box connected to the net 24/7 and it holds up fine.
Go on - give it a go - and discover the joys of real computing. Or buy a Mac - they’re wrth having too, but please odn’t swallow all this shit.

What a shit paper.
Some british soldiers are being charged with war crimes, which if they are guilty is what should happen. And what does the Express has to say about such things? “Just weeks after the London bommbings…” What the fuck has that got to do with anything.
Go on Daily Express, line up with the Daily Mail and fck off somewhere else!
