Most people who know me, or even read the blog, will know I love radio4. Saturday mornings lieing in bed, with things like the news quiz, make my week. I was most upset to read of Linda Smith dieing today. Not only was she extreamly funny, but she was also one of the few women who held her own in banter with the radio4 panel regulars.

…to quote a friend “complete fucking idiocy”
Why I hear you ask - what is the boy up to?
Well, I’ve marinated a piece of beef (brisket) in pinapple juice and chilli for 4 days, and squewered it on a bent coathanger, suspected it in a metal biscuit tin, full of pieces of apple wood I picked up this weekend. Then I set light to the wood with the gas cooker, closed the lid, and put the whole lot in the oven.
3 hours later - it could be great, or terrible, but it will certainly be a surprise.

I’m not exactly sure what this is, it’s an online comic, or a story, or something, however, I am thus far enjoying The Service.

Well, I’ve been pretty crappy at updating lately. I’ll try, but really there’s not muh to tell. Werk remains a bit rubbish (I suspect I might be letting my love of pushing my limits get in the way of me seeing that, actually its completely shit), my oliday fell through (grr werk and my lack of organisaion), and the weather is poo (I shall have a word tomorrow).
On the up note, beerritz.co.uk came though with my order, emergency cake was a blinder, and I’ve just finished the last of the sloe gin that theGirl gave me a couple of years ago. Save for a photo and a scarf, I think it is the last tie I have, considering I deleted the phonenumber months ago. Anyway, there are more interesting things afoot I would imagine.
So - a weekend a la ‘rents. It’s all cassaroles and cold feet today.

OK, there are some horrific people in this world but the man who raped his dying stepdaughter should be castrated at the very least.

Leaving work early, round trip to York to deliver keys (and a quick cocktail and a hug), and then home via tescos for discounted pizza and a bag of salad.
Well, better than working late and staggering home hating the world!

Vicks Sinex (Nasal pump spray) is rocking my world! I’ve been bunged up and snuffly, and I found a bottle rolling around under the sofa. No idea where it came from, but having been run under the tap I wedges it into a nostril, fired it up, and I’ve been breathing free and easy ever since!

OK, this is beginning to really bug me. If 200 Americans had been kidnapped all over the world, flown around the world to various countries where acts that are illegal in the US (and many other sane countries) and then locked in a detention camp, where alligations of torture and abuse are rife, POTUS The Cunt would have been going to war, and bombing the living shit out of a whole wedge of people.
There is probably fuck all we can do (it’s been going on 4 years now) but write to your mp and complain. http://www.writetothem.com is a brillaiint service and I’ve had some real success with in in the last few months (inc’ letters from the party whip).
Do it now - it’ll only take 10 mins of your time to tell these guys quite how fucked up it is.

…the fucking lot.
I’d forgotten what a good little film Lock Stock and Two Smoking Barrels is. It’s pretty beutifully shot, the cinematography, line little comic lines, Vinnie Jones being a very very nasty man, and even the appearence of Sting doesn’t cunt it up too much.
Perfect for watching whilst ironing. Oh and a great soundtrack - a bloody brilliant soundtrack.

So, after a Friday spent drinking in black tie an a very expencive taxi home, and a saturday night consuming a couple of beers and watching amazing people singing and playing at the Cluny, today I am trying to be domestic. I’ve got a piece of brisket slow roasting (marinated in pickeld walnut, chillki and beer), I have beans soaked and slowly baking, a huge load of washing on, and a big stack of ironing.
It’s strangly satisfying, if a little, erm, 1950’s.
