Bloody bloody fucking DSL!
Right - I’ve finally got an internet connection up and running, so I’m not suck lieing on the floor with this back with nothing to to. A computer without in internet connection is most dispressing item, bcause you can’t get hold of any new fun things like programs. So, everyday that my internet router spent it’s day saying:
Jan 1 12:00:35> DSL Carrier is training
Jan 1 12:00:45> DSL Carrier is down
Jan 1 12:34:55> DSL Carrier is training
Jan 1 12:35:05> DSL Carrier is up
It turns out that the Dlink 604T doesn’t like other phones to be on the same line, so I unplugged all the phones, and added them back in slowly, and when I added the crappy cordless phone, the line drops. It would appear cheap phones cause trouble, and that you do indeed get what you pay for, and there was me tryinng every bloody combo of settings on the router.
I should point out that it’s taken me best part of 4 hours, and I now ache like a cheap whore. More painkillers!
